Piotr Adamczyk, through teaching, writing, and research, has been exploring the possibilities for exchange between practices in the sciences and evaluation techniques in the arts. With a background in Mathematics and Computer Science, Piotr holds graduate degrees in Human Factors and Library and Information Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. His recent work in Human Factors has examined the role of human attention in interface design and how communication in disparate collaborative practice involves tools and artifacts. Piotr has authored papers and organized workshops for Association for Computing Machinery conferences centered on human-computer interaction, and served as a Program Committee member for Creativity & Cognition in 2007. Also in 2007, as an artist in residence at the Banff New Media Institute, Piotr collaborated with artist Kevin Hamilton on a critical examination of how notions of "creativity" are mobilized in art/science projects. He is currently working on a project with the V2/Patchingzone in Rotterdam, combining participatory art practices, urban pervasive computing, and cultural institutions in Gouda. Based in New York City, Piotr currently holds an analyst position with The Metropolitan Museum of Art.
