Session: Demonstrations 2

This past year The Field Museum's web site has seen an increase in usage of 221%, and with that increase comes a better understanding of what needs to be done to create content that the visitor finds useful and easy to access.

The Museum's web development team has started plans for a new and improved web site that will be in final stages during the Museums and the Web conference in March. We would like the opportunity to show other museums what we have done and what we hope to accomplish with the redesign.

Highlights of the website improvements:

* Database backend to deliver content for areas of site that need continous updating such as: Employment opportunities and Calendar of Events. * Improved usability/information architecture -Easier to navigate and find information -Updated visual design * New education resources available on-line
