Perttu Rastas

Perttu Rastas (born 1952), intendant and media curator is responsible for Kiasma, Museum of Contemporary Art (www.kiasma.fng.fi) media art collections and conservation media projects, digital archiving and information and communication technology (ICT) systems. He shares responsibility for media art performances and exhibitions together with the Museum Director and the Curator of Exhibitions. He is also involved in planning Kiasma's theatrical programming in the areas of film and video in cooperation with Kiasma theatre producer. Before coming to the Museum in 1996, he worked for KSL's media workshop (1985-1989), and as Director of Operations for the Finnish Media Art Archives, AV-arkki (1989-1994, www.av-arkki.fi). He was responsible for the planning and coordination of the MuuMediafestival (www.av-arkki.fi/mmf) which is actually largest international media art festival in Scandinavia (1988-1995), and has also worked as Media Art producer for AVEK - Finnish Support Centre For AudioVisual Culture, (production grants,1993-1996, www.kopiosto.fi/avek).
