Laura Eve-Cowles received her Ed.D. from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Dr. Eve-Cowles is the Director of Resource Development for a non-profit agency called ACSIOM (Applied Computing Systems Institute of Massachusetts, Inc.), where she is spearheading an effort to customize Internet publishing services for use by museums. Known as ACSIOM Publishing™, this innovative technology enables museums to create streamed audio/video presentations that are coupled with text, pictures, graphics, and animations. Finished productions can be viewed from anywhere in the world using a standard PC and 28.8 modem connection. All software needed to view ACSIOM Publishing™ presentations can be downloaded off of the Internet for free. There are no custom plug-ins, and none of the museum's valuable content gets left on the viewer's machine.
