Changing the Face of Medicine: Celebrating America's Women Physicians Demonstration: Demonstrations - Session 1 The 'Changing the Face of Medicine' exhibition at the National Library of Medicine examines the many ways that women have influenced and enhanced the practice of medicine. A variety of unique audio/video and interactive experiences bring their stories to life online, inspiring succeeding generations of women as they open doors, make new discoveries, and change the face of medicine. The Web site showcases historical and contemporary physicians through in-depth videos, totaling over two hours of contemporary interviews and historical biographies. Visitors can interact with exhibition artifacts through 3D imagery and four interactive activities were created specifically for student visitors to explore how the human body works and out how exceptional physicians have helped improve our quality of life. A searchable database allows visitors to discover over 300 physicians based on their location or specialty and by medical school, keyword and alphabetical indexing. Each of these online interactive components work together to celebrate America's women physicians.
