Dan Sheppard is a Computer Scientist and software developer based at the Centre for Applied Research in Educational Technology. He specialises in humanities computing projects, with a particular focus on distributed project teams and transforming the techniques of social networking into an scholarly context. Recently, Dan's attention has turned to custom metadata and workflows, particularly into recreating the customizability and easy development practices provided by desktop database applications like Filemaker and Access in a modern enterprise-grade, web-based context.
